After last years challenge of walking to the most Easterly Bothy in the UK I decided that I owe it to my fellow veterans to try and raise the bar and raise as much money as possible for those in need by ‘Walking Home For Christmas’ from the most Northerly Point in the UK! :)
I have been kindly supported by Northlink & Pentland Ferries and also Loganair who are taking me to the Shetland Islands, where I will start my journey South, walking through Orkney, then on to John O Groats and walking back to my home in Banchory Aberdeenshire over 250 miles. Shetland to Banchory will consist of almost a marathon a day for 10 days and in whatever the December weather can throw at me. Please and only if you can, donate to help a Veteran at this time of year. Christmas can be a particularly challenging time for our ex forces community, often finding themselves in times of anguish with many of those living on the streets. This charity have helped me personally at my lowest point and without them I really don’t know where I would have ended up.
