Lee's Bothy Challenge!

By Events on

Massive props to Lee Jordan who is really living and breathing the challenge element of Walking Home For Christmas! Imagine - sleeping in the most Easterly Mountain Bothy in the UK each night for the past 9 nights, up near Balmoral in -21, to do your bit... well Lee, ex RAF made this pledge before the weather forecast swung rather dramatically for the worse. But he served, knows the value of others service and he wanted to do something extraordinary to help raise funds to support those who need a helping hand having hit a bump in the road.

He started walking into the bothy after work. Then switched to snow shoes and finally to skis.... leaning into the howling wind, sticking to his pledge when it would have been easy and understandable to let it slide. Getting up in the dark to walk out in time for work. He has one more night to go. Support his unbelievable efforts here: https://www.walkinghomeforchristmas.com/users/lee-jordan

Veteran walking 250 miles from the Shetland Islands to Aberdeenshire

By Media Team on

Lee Jordan from Banchory, Aberdeenshire will be walking from the Shetland Islands home to Banchory in December to raise funds for those who served.

Commenting on the Walking Home For Christmas challenge, Lee said, “Last year I took on a Walking Home For Christmas, walking from the most Easterly Bothy in the UK. This year I have decided that I owe it to my fellow veterans to try and raise the bar and raise as much money as possible for those in need by ‘Walking Home For Christmas’ from the most Northerly Point in the UK.

I have been kindly supported by Loganair who are taking me to the Shetland Islands, where I will start my journey South, walking through Orkney, then on to John O Groats and walking back to my home in Banchory,...
