Help for Heroes Community Recovery Team in Wales is inviting our friends, families, supporters and veterans to join us in a fundraising walk to raise money for Help for Heroes and Walking with the Wounded this Christmas.
Pledge your support and join us for a 5k walk (or whatever you can manage) as we take a tour of Pontypridd's stunning Ynysangharad War Memorial Park on Sunday 16th December between 11am-1pm.
You can take a leisurely stroll and complete the walk at your own pace, or put yourself to the test and try to achieve a personal best.
The main thing we ask is that you join us, try and raise some sponsorship money if you can, and have fun.
Light refreshments will be provided at the finishline (in the Bowling Pavillion) so please do let us know if you're joining in, and if you have any dietary requirements.
The route is wheelchair and pushchair accessible.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible - please wear Christmas jumpers if you can and we'll provide Santa hats for all signed up walkers.
Well behaved dogs are welcome to join us but please be mindful that service dogs and small children will be in attendance. Thank you.

We're following the Pontypridd Park Run Route

Map and safety advice are available here: http://www.parkrun.org.uk/pontypridd/course/

The course at Pontypridd parkrun is 1 small lap followed by three large laps of Ynysangharad War Memorial Park.

The start is adjacent to the tennis courts, directly opposite the footbridge entrance to the park. From the start (facing the footbridge) you take a left turn, and follow the path around to a T-junction, where a marshal will guide you left - follow the path around and once again, you go through the start area - take a left again and next when you come to the marshal on the T-junction, you will be guided to take a right turn. Follow the path (cricket pitch to your left) and turn left again keeping the cricket pitch to your left, and the football field to your right. At the bollards, follow the path straight through to the tall wall and take a sharp left, following the path up a slight incline and around the edge of the park, at the main gates, it’s left again, and down past the play area and Lido - the start area will be on your left, keep going for another two large laps. When you pass the Lido for the third time, you will come into the finish area, which is clearly marked out.

Please arrive by foot, by pedal-power or by public transport if you can - parking in council car parks is free on Sundays.
