10 years of Walking Home For Christmas and counting

Mick and Dan Bradbury, from Hemsworth will be walking from Mick’s first married quarters in Ripon to Hemsworth in West Yorkshire on December 23rd to raise funds for those who served.
Commenting on the Walking Home For Christmas challenge, Mick said, “I am veteran and served for 22 years in the Armed Forces. I came out of the Army with the normal battle scars, sore knees, a bad back and I struggled with my mental health. However, I know a lot of veterans who came off a lot worse than me and I want to do my bit to support them.
This is my 10th year taking part in Walking Home For Christmas. Over the years I have walked around 400 miles to support Walking With The Wounded and Walking Home For Christmas, with my son Dan, by my side. This year we are walking 43 miles from Ripon to Hemsworth. It will be tough but it’s worth it for a good cause.”

From London to Dumfries, the care staff Walking Home For Christmas

Workers from the UK’s largest online care platform Curam put their best feet forward on December 11, raising vital funds for veterans’ charity Walking With The Wounded as part of its Walking Home For Christmas campaign.
The national sponsored event, which is now in its 10th year, involved teams from the care company’s London and Dumfries offices, who collectively clocked up a total of 50 miles as one of 154 teams taking part.
Staff in east London carried out individual walks, including Curam co-founder Patrick Wallace, who walked from the company’s office in Ashwin Street, Dalston, to Hammersmith. And the Scottish team, headed by Curam director Ben Weatherall, clocked up 12 miles with their countryside walk in Irongray, Dumfries.
